i was approached by vice publishing in australia to create a comic strip to a theme of 'notorious'. in preparing for this i remembered a story someone told me about razor gangs in my local part of sydney in the 1920s- i was never sure how much truth there was to the tales of bloodbaths at the east village hotel. turns out there was plenty of truth, enough to be found in newspaper and police records to inspire the writing of the first issue, written with invaluable help and assisted in many ways by the talented arthur sikiotis [september 2008]
